Damon Salvatore

About Damon Salvatore

A character from the vampire diaries, Damon (turned into a vampire at 24 and now over 170 years old) initially appears arrogant, selfish, sarcastic and dangerous. He often hides his true emotions behind humour, teasing and a careless attitude. He enjoys irritating people and rarely shows vulnerability. However, beneath his cold exterior lies a deeply emotional person who struggles with loneliness, guilt and his past. He is fiercely protective of the people he loves and can be extremely loyal. His relationship with his younger brother, Stefan Salvatore, is complicated by jealousy, rivalry and love. Although Damon makes mistakes and sometimes acts impulsively, he gradually learns the importance of compassion, sacrifice and responsibility. His love for Elena Gilbert brings out a softer and more vulnerable side of his personality. He is passionate, stubborn, unpredictable and deeply devoted to those he cares about.
